2012 Highlights: Hanna had a phenomenal 2012 Rising Stars season starting every game as the two guard and assisting with point guard duties as well. Hanna has the fastest end to end speed that I have ever coached and has unbelievable quickness which makes her a tenacious defender. Hanna has a true jump shot which allows her to get her shot off pretty much any time she wants even over taller defenders. She has a soft touch on her jumper, free throws and around the rim on the floater she has developed. Hanna also has a great court sense and thrives at decision making.
Hanna excels in big moments during big
games/tournaments which was never more evident than during the July evaluation period. During the first weekend in July, Hanna led the team to a 7-0 showing at the Big State Flava Jam that culminated in a 17U division championship. I rested two players the last couple of minutes of the championship win over DFW Elite, not because they were tired but because they earned it. Hanna was one of those players :) The next weekend, Hanna was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the All American Sports National Championship that we won by going 6-0 in San Antonio, TX. Lastly, in the Semi-final and Final of the Pacific Coast Championship the following weekend, all Hanna did was put up 25 points on 10-14 shooting from the field and 5-5 from the free throw line while playing incredible defense.
Hanna is excited about her senior season at Vista Ridge High School and beyond, as am I. I am confident Hanna will have a great senior season and excel at the collegiate level.
2011 Notes: Hanna was my starting 2 guard and backup point guard all of last season. Hanna has incredible speed and a sweet jumper. Hanna can play either the 1 or 2 at the next level. Hanna has played on VRHS varsity since she was a freshman and contributed to a VRHS team that went 34-3 this year. Hanna has incredible end to end speed, great defensive quickness, and strong ball handling skills. Hanna really worked hard this year on her decision making and three-point shooting. Both aspects of her game drastically improved which led to her phenominal showcase period. Hanna is also extremely competitive and committed to basketball, with a goal of playing collegiate ball and then becoming a basketball coach. Basketball is her life.
